Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel Celebrates the Foundation Day of Shri Kalki Dham Temple
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel attended the first foundation day of the Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal, reflecting on its challenging journey and emphasizing the need for donations in driving societal change.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel attended the inaugural celebration of the Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal district on February 19, 2025. The temple’s foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a year prior, during a ceremony attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Addressing a gathering at the event, Governor Patel highlighted the temple's significance and reflected on its challenging journey towards completion. She shared insights from Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Peethadheeshwar of Kalki Dham, who conveyed that the construction of the temple was approved after a lengthy period of 18 years marked by hardships and perseverance.
In her remarks, Ms. Patel drew parallels between the struggles faced by Acharya Pramod and those encountered by the Prime Minister in his efforts to implement change. “Many people must have criticized him during this journey, just as the Prime Minister faces criticism for his efforts,” she expressed, emphasizing that blessings and recognition often come only after endeavors are fulfilled.
Highlighting the importance of donations in fostering societal change, the Governor pointed to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which was made possible through public contributions. She stated, “The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, built with the donations of common people, will be remembered for generations.” She firmly believed that Shri Kalki Dham would evolve into a “centre of consciousness” beyond just being a temple.
Reflecting on her previous endeavors in the field of education during her tenure in Gujarat, Ms. Patel noted the immense community participation observed in constructing schools, hospitals, and supporting the education of underprivileged children. She underscored the transformative power of donations and shared her personal commitment to the cause by announcing a contribution of Rs 5,00,111 to the temple. “Donations bring real transformation,” she remarked.
In her address, Governor Patel commended the Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Adityanath for various initiatives, including the notable achievement of “freeing 500 children” from begging in Lucknow and enrolling them in schools.
While discussing women’s empowerment, Ms. Patel pointed out that even though the Constitution has always existed, its benefits have not always reached women. However, she highlighted positive developments by noting, “But today, women are breaking barriers and moving forward in education and even in fields like IT and the Army.” She credited the progress to the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society.
As Shri Kalki Dham Temple begins its journey, it stands not only as a new religious site but as a testament to community effort, perseverance, and a beacon of hope for societal transformation.
