Two Girls Forced to Perform 'Murga' Punishment and Beaten in Bageshwar's Kapkot

In a horrifying incident from Kapkot in Bageshwar district, Uttarakhand, four boys subjected two minor girls to extreme humiliation and abuse. The accused allegedly lured the girls into a room, where they physically assaulted them and forced them to perform a humiliating "Murga" (chicken) punishment. Despite the girls' tears and cries, the abuse continued for an extended period. The perpetrators filmed the entire incident and later shared the video on social media.

The video quickly went viral, which prompted the victim's family to file a formal complaint with the Kapkot police. In their complaint, the family accused the four boys of molestation, physical abuse, and issuing threats of harm. Based on their statement, the police registered a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 74, 115(2), 352, 351(2) BNS, and sections 7/8 of the POCSO Act.

The police moved quickly after the complaint was filed. One of the accused, 23-year-old Yogesh Gadiya, was arrested near the Mandalsera bypass while attempting to flee in a car. However, two other accused, Daksh Farswan and Lucky Kathayat, managed to escape on foot.

Despite their escape, the police seized their car, and efforts to apprehend the remaining accused are underway.

On Monday, the three remaining accused attempted to flee Bageshwar by car, but they were intercepted by the police during a vehicle check. When the police signaled the car to stop, the driver sped away, hitting a police officer and even colliding  with a police vehicle. The police gave chase and eventually cornered the vehicle. While Daksh and Lucky fled on foot, Yogesh was apprehended by the police. Additional charges of obstruction and resisting arrest were added to the case.

The investigation continues, and the police are making every effort to capture the remaining two suspects and bring them to justice for their involvement in this shocking incident.
