Shocking Incident in Haridwar: Woman Becomes Pregnant After Sterilization Surgery
A woman in Haridwar became pregnant despite undergoing sterilization surgery, raising serious concerns about negligence within the health department. The missing file from the CMO office has added to the family's distress.

A shocking incident of negligence by the health department has come to light in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. A woman, despite undergoing sterilization surgery, became pregnant again eight months later. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the quality of healthcare services in the region. The woman’s family has accused the health department of gross negligence after they learned of the case.
The woman, a resident of Bhagwanpur in Haridwar, had undergone sterilization surgery on March 22, 2021, and holds the sterilization certificate as proof. However, despite the procedure, she became pregnant just eight months after the surgery. This baffling situation led the woman's family to raise alarm at the hospital and demand answers. When they investigated further, it was revealed that the woman's file had been missing for the past four years at the CMO office. For the past four years, the woman has been visiting the office, seeking financial assistance, but she had not received any help.
The family blamed the health department for their negligence, stating that the sterilization procedure had failed. In response, the Medical Superintendent acknowledged the failure, pointing to negligence on the part of the doctor who performed the surgery. To diffuse the situation, the doctor promised that the woman would receive financial assistance through a government scheme, even though this would not reverse the troubling situation.
The most disturbing part of this incident is that the woman submitted all the necessary paperwork for the government assistance in May 2022. Despite this, her file remained missing, and she had to spend hours searching for it. This has caused the woman immense frustration as she continues to navigate through bureaucratic red tape. After the incident garnered attention, CMO RK Singh assured that appropriate action would be taken regarding the negligence at both the CHC and office levels.
This is not the first instance of such negligence within the health department. The department has faced multiple accusations of similar mishaps in the past. This incident has caused significant distress in the local community, and the woman’s fight for justice continues.
