Heavy Rain Expected in Uttarakhand: Yellow Alert Issued for 5 Districts

Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to change today, as the Meteorological Department has forecasted rain in several hilly districts of the state. A yellow alert has been issued for these areas, urging residents to remain vigilant. This change in weather comes after several days of dry conditions in the region.

Uttarakhand has been experiencing increasing heat, with temperatures soaring in both the plains and hilly areas. The scorching heat has left people reluctant to step outside. However, today, the weather is likely to provide some relief in certain districts. According to the weather department, several hilly districts, including Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh, are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall at different places. In contrast, other districts are likely to experience dry weather. 

The weather department also indicated that there could be thunder and lightning in some parts of the hilly districts. Additionally, Dehradun, Pauri, and Nainital are likely to experience gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30-40 km/h. A yellow alert has been issued for these districts, urging people to stay cautious.

In Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, the sky is expected to remain partially cloudy today. Light rain, along with thunder and lightning, could occur in some areas, accompanied by gusty winds. The temperature in the capital is expected to range between a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 20°C.
