Vivaan Arora Opens Up About His Love for Action-Thrillers and His Comeback Story
Actor Vivaan Arora, known for his work in Punjabi cinema and TV, talks about his passion for thrillers and action, his journey through music videos, and how stepping away from the camera helped reignite his love for acting.

Actor Vivaan Arora, who has been seen in Punjabi films like Dramebaaz Kalakaar and Haq: The Right, as well as TV shows like Supercop Super Villain, Ashi, and the popular horror anthology Aahat, has a soft corner for thrillers and action roles. With a music video alongside Tochi Raina also under his belt, Vivaan is now looking for projects that challenge him — and thrillers are at the top of that list.
> “Thriller and action are two genres that have always excited me,” he shares. “There’s a certain rush in the fast-paced storytelling, the twists, and the high-stakes drama. Thrillers especially keep you on your toes as an actor — they demand you to balance intensity and subtle emotion because every scene can shift the entire narrative.”
Action, too, has a magnetic pull for him — not just physically, but mentally.
> “With action, it’s the adrenaline that pulls me in — the energy, the physical demands, and the sheer transformation that comes with portraying someone who’s constantly battling challenges. Whether it's a dramatic face-off or a gripping stunt sequence, these roles push you to go beyond your comfort zone.”
Despite being in front of the camera for years, Vivaan candidly admits that he’s still waiting for that one project that truly fulfills him.
> “Honestly, I don’t think I’ve found that one project yet that’s made me feel completely fulfilled. I’m thankful for every opportunity that’s come my way — each role has taught me valuable lessons, helped me evolve, and brought me a step closer to discovering who I am as an actor.”
He adds,
> “I’m searching for a role that pushes me both emotionally and creatively, something that lingers in my mind even after pack-up. I know that kind of project will come when the time is right — and when it does, I’ll pour my heart and soul into it.”
When talking about his experience doing a music video, Vivaan explains how it challenged him in unexpected ways.
> “In a music video, you don’t rely on lengthy dialogues to convey emotion — it’s all about your expressions, the way you move, and matching the vibe of the music. It’s like performing in sync with the rhythm, and that makes the connection to the song feel very intimate and real.”
> “Also, the shoot moves quickly, so you need to hit the right emotion in a short amount of time. There’s not much room for retakes or overthinking. It taught me how powerful subtle expression can be, and how much you can communicate without saying a single word.”
Vivaan had taken a break from the screen for a while, but not without reason. He explains that life had other plans.
> “Yes, I did take some time off from acting. There were personal matters and family obligations that needed my attention, along with a few business issues that I had to deal with. It wasn’t easy stepping away, but sometimes life puts you in a place where you have to focus on what’s most important in that moment.”
Even during his break, the passion never left him.
> “Acting was never really out of my system. Even while I was away, there was always this inner voice reminding me that my true place is in front of the camera. I missed the feeling of slipping into a character, living their journey, and telling stories that connect with people.”
Now that he’s back, Vivaan says he’s hungrier than ever to explore roles that leave a lasting impact.
> “Acting gives me a sense of fulfillment nothing else can — and now that I’m back, I’m here with even more focus and fire than before.”
