Lav Kush Ramlila to Shine Grandly at Red Fort Grounds
Delhi’s historic Red Fort grounds will once again host the grand Lav Kush Ramlila. With film stars, modern technology, and rich cultural traditions, the spectacle will run from September 22 to October 3, 2025.

Delhi’s iconic Red Fort grounds are preparing to host another chapter of devotion and grandeur. The world-renowned Lav Kush Ramlila Committee announced that this year’s staging of the epic will begin on September 22 and run till October 3, 2025. The grand Dussehra celebration will take place on October 2 with traditional pomp and global attention.
This edition of Ramlila is designed to be historic in scale. For the first time, Bollywood and television stars will take center stage along with theatre artists, making the production larger than ever. Actor Kinshuk Vaidya will portray Lord Ram, actress Rini Arya will step into the role of Sita, and Malhar Pandya will embody the mighty Hanuman. Altogether, 15 well-known film stars and more than 140 artists from TV and stage will bring the timeless tale to life.
Technology will play a big role in creating magic this year. Secretary Subhash Goyal explained that the production will feature 3D mapping, digital visual effects, AI-driven elements, and an advanced sound system. More than 150 TV channels and online platforms, including YouTube, will live-stream the event to an estimated global audience of over 250 million viewers. This fusion of tradition and modernity aims to carry the Ramlila into the digital age without losing its soul.
The stage and pandal itself will be no less than a spectacle. Craftsmen from Kolkata, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Ujjain have been working for months to build the grand structures. To add to the festive spirit, a massive food court will offer delicacies from across India—from Old Delhi’s famous chaats to sweets and savory flavors from Mathura, Banaras, Indore, Gujarat, Jaipur, and Chennai. For families and children, there will also be vibrant swings and fair-like attractions.
For the actors, it is a deeply emotional journey. Kinshuk Vaidya called it a fortune and honor to play Lord Ram at the Red Fort, one of India’s most historic venues. Rini Arya admitted that portraying Sita will be a challenge but one she is already preparing for with dedication. Malhar Pandya, a devotee of Lord Hanuman, said performing as the powerful Pawan Putra live before thousands of devotees is a matter of pride and devotion for him.
The Ramlila Committee is also weaving social service into the celebrations. On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a mega health camp will be organized along with distribution of materials for differently-abled individuals, sarees for women, and school kits for children. A grand bhandara (community feast) will also be arranged. Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, renowned bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal will perform devotional songs before the staging begins, filling the grounds with faith and fervor.
